Shipping policy

Orders are generally shipped by our team within 7 days after your payment is validated, including weekends and public holidays.

Some items must be declared and registered before being exported. Please note that in rare cases, this process may require a few additional days.

Preorder shipping

Orders are only shipped once all the items they contain are ready. This means that if an order contains one or more preorder items, it will not be shipped until all preorder items are ready.

The expected shipping date for a preorder item is always indicated on the product page.

Revision of shipping costs

Shipping costs are calculated based on the weight and size of the items you select. Most of the time, the calculation is accurate. However, in rare cases, our system may make a calculation error.

In such a situation, we will contact you. You will have the option of topping up the shipping amount you have already paid in order to receive your order, or to cancel your order.

Safe packaging

Security is very important to us. As Japanese anime goods have a rapidly increasing value, we do our best to prevent some thefts. Your order will always be shipped in a totally neutral brown cardboard box. We only mention the general type of product ordered (like "Toys"). This way, only you know exactly what is in the package.

Worldwide Delivery

We can ship almost anywhere in the world, as long as you have an address that can be delivered by a local postal service.

To be sure, just start the checkout process and fill out your address to see what shipping methods are available.

Guaranteed delivery

We guarantee that you can track your order if you selected this option. Once your order has been processed by the delivery service, you will receive an email from us with a tracking link. If any issues arise during the delivery process, you can report them to us. This allows us to take action quickly and often prevents the return of orders.

We stand by the guaranteed delivery of your order. If something goes wrong during delivery, we will ensure that you receive your order. Please note that it is the recipient's responsibility to provide the correct delivery address and, if applicable, to pick up the order on time at the designated location.

Delivery times

Estimated delivery times vary depending on the shipping method you choose and your destination. The available shipping options, along with their estimated delivery times, are always displayed at checkout so you can see the most up-to-date information before placing your order.

Please note that deliveries may take longer than expected due to the postal service situation in Japan and your country. Unfortunately, we have no control over this and cannot be held responsible for any delays.

In most destinations, once your parcel has arrived in your country, it will be handled by your main local delivery service. You should then be able to use your tracking number directly on their websites for a more detailed tracking. Please check How to track your parcel?.

Customs Taxes/Fees

IMPORTANT: Unless it is clearly stated at checkout, in the description of the shipping method you choose, that import duties and taxes are already included, your shipment is sent DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid), and you may have to pay import fees upon delivery.

Shipping methods with import duties and taxes included (DDP)

For some destinations, we offer shipping methods with import duties and taxes included (DDP – Delivered Duty Paid). When this is the case, it is clearly mentioned in the shipping method description at checkout, and the duties and taxes are calculated and charged at checkout. You will not have to pay any import duties or taxes upon delivery.

All other shipments (DDU)

On our website, you order products that will be shipped from Japan, and you will most likely receive them outside of Japan. You are therefore importing goods and are solely responsible for paying all customs duties, taxes, tariffs, brokerage fees, and any other charges deemed appropriate by your local authorities in order to receive the package.

The prices on our website do not include these fees. These fees are paid directly to your local carrier or government and are not collected by Ichiba Japan, and therefore cannot be refunded under any circumstances.

The amount of these fees varies by country and we have no control over them. As we are unable to tell you how much these fees will be, or even if you will have to pay them, we strongly recommend that you contact your local customs office if you need more information before placing your order.

Unless your chosen shipping method clearly states that import duties and taxes are included, by placing an order with us you acknowledge and accept full responsibility for any import fees, duties, or taxes required by your country.

Damages and issues

Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if an item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right. Once we have confirmed the issue, we will arrange for the item to be returned to us free of charge and send you a replacement, at no cost to you. Please record an unboxing video when opening your parcel — this is required to support any claim for damaged, defective, or missing items. Any issue reported later than 48 hours after receipt of your order will not be accepted.

Returned parcel

Any parcel that is returned to us without prior confirmation—for example, if you have made a mistake in your delivery address, if you have refused the delivery, if you have not collected your parcel in time, if you have not paid the taxes or customs fees, or if you have decided to return the goods without talking to us first—will either be reshipped at your expense or refunded minus the shipping costs and a 10% restocking fee.

Additionally, for parcels returned because you did not pay import fees due, any additional fees charged to us by the courier company will be charged to you or deducted from the refund of the items in the order.
